harlequin grim

Raised in a California desert, I wrote morbid stories to entertain myself. It’s been a habit ever since.

That fascination with the macabre led me to a job at a mortuary during the pandemic. Shuffling bodies around in the crematory’s heat, my circus dreams, and the inklings of my debut novel were born.

This intimacy with death, and her lingering ghosts, changed me.

Imbued with memento mori, I set out to actualise my ambitions as a performer and author. After years of intensive training, and getting my first booking, I never turned back.

The Black Carnival garnered thousands of sales on release—growing a humble but loyal readership.

Now a full-time circus artist, I perform my signature acts in various productions, and am contracted to tour the US and Europe with the band Voilà in the autumn/winter of 2026.

Juggling these two art forms is the greatest honour of my life. I have but one aim now: do it to the best of my ability.

The Grim name comes with a simple but profound belief: when you pursue your highest ideals, magic happens–fate twists in powerful ways. And by contending with darkness, light is conjured.
